Adele was confounded when she pulled a fan onto the stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Tuesday night. That girl, who boldly asked the Adele if she could sing with her, was Grammy-nominated Christian artist Jamie Grace.

Jamie Grace Harper is an American contemporary Christian musician, singer, rapper, and songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. In 2010, she was discovered by TobyMac via YouTube and signed to his label Gotee Records. She released the song “Hold Me” in 2011 which landed her a nomination at the 2012 Grammys and winning the 2012 Dove Award for New Artist of the Year.

On the other hand, Adele is a British singer. In 2011 and 2012, Billboard named Adele Artist of the Year. In 2012, she was listed at number five on VH1’s 100 Greatest Women in Music. Time magazine named her one of the most influential people in the world in 2012 and 2016. With sales of more than 100 million records, Adele is one of the best-selling recording artists in the world. At the 2016 Brit Awards in London on 24 February, Adele received the awards for British Female Solo Artist, British Album of the Year for 25, British Single of the Year for “Hello”, and British Global Success. She closed the ceremony by performing “When We Were Young”, the second single from 25. While on stage at London’s O2 Arena on 17 March, Adele announced that she would be headlining on the Pyramid Stage at the 2016 Glastonbury Festival, which was later confirmed by the festival’s organizers. She appeared a 90-minute fifteen song set at the festival on 25 June, and described the experience as “by far, the best moment of my life so far”

Jamie Grace told ABC News she, accompanied by her sister Morgan and brother-in-law, scored front row seats to the concert. Grace said she was giving herself an early birthday present, though her big day isn’t until November.

“She was being super interactive with her fans,” Jamie Grace recalled, “and then she looked at me and I said, ‘Do you want to sing together?’ And she said, ‘Okay, come up here!’ So I went up there.”

When Jamie Grace took the microphone from Adele, she sang a version of Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” and a cover of the singer’s hit song, “Remedy”

“I was excited and blown away and honored in general,” she said. “I was nervous. I was excited. I was literally shaking.”

The singer added, “To be up there with Adele it’s a totally different thing,” she clarified. “It wasn’t an audience … where they came to see me.”

She continued, “The last time I was at Staples it was when I was nominated for a Grammy when I was 19 and so it’s funny because [Adele] had no idea of any of that and she still gave me that chance.”

“Just because you’re an artist and you’re on the radio or you have a Grammy nomination, people might think that everything is good,” she said. “I’ve actually been going through a really emotional time with music and have just been really overwhelmed with what’s next in my career.”

“Even though I have this recognition and this career, to be given the opportunity to sing for Adele’s crowd — it was a reminder and an assurance that I do have a voice and the voice does matter. It was everything I needed.”

Still, the singer optimistic to work with Adele, who is currently touring to support her album “25,” soon.

“I’m a dreamer so I have no shame. I would love to write with her one day,” she said. “Me, her and my sister could do a three-part harmony. She can take the lead.”
